Specific Features of Scandium Chloride Extraction with a Mixture of Tributyl Phosphate and Molecular Iodine

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2017
Features of interphase distribution of scandium chloride in the systems containing tributyl phosphate and molecular iodine have been analyzed. Significant electrolytic dissociation of the formed complex scandium chloride with tributyl phosphate and iodine in the organic phase (almost complete at tributyl phosphate concentration 80–100%) has been ...

Synthesis, 45Sc NMR characterization, and interconversion of structurally diverse scandium chloride hydrates

Polyhedron, 2019
Abstract The dissolution of scandium metal (Sc°) in concentrated hydrochloric acid was found to generate a wide variety of products based on the reaction/processing conditions. The compounds [Sc(H2O)6]3[Cl] (1) and [ScCl2(H2O)4][Cl]·H2O (2) were isolated from the above reaction when an ice bath is used.

Co-ordination chemistry of scandium. Part I. Complexes of scandium( III ) chloride and thiocyanate with 2,2′-bipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline

J. Chem. Soc. A, 1969
The reactions of scandium(III) chloride and thiocyanate with 2,2′-bipyridyl (bipy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) have been investigated. Conductivity and i.r. studies suggest that scandium(III) is hexaco-ordinated in all the complexes, and the products can be formulated as [ScL3](CNS)3 and [ScL2X2]X (L = bipy, phen; X = CNS–, Cl–) For the latter ...

The dinuclear scandium(III) cyclooctatetraenyl chloride complex di-μ-chlorido-bis[(η8-cyclooctatetraene)(tetrahydrofuran-κO)scandium(III)]

Acta Crystallographica Section C Structural Chemistry, 2017
Only a few cyclooctatetraene dianion (COT) π-complexes of lanthanides have been crystallographically characterized. This first single-crystal X-ray diffraction characterization of a scandium(III) COT chloride complex, namely di-μ-chlorido-bis[(η8-cyclooctatetraene)(tetrahydrofuran-κO)scandium(III)], [Sc2(C8H8)2Cl2(C4H8O)2] or [Sc(COT)Cl(THF)]2 (THF is ...

THE CHLORIDE AND BROMIDE COMPLEXING OF SCANDIUM(III) AND YTTRIUM(III) IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION

The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1962
Editor please delete 25336 16:025357The electron spin resonance spectra, optical absorption spectra, and electrical conductivities of solutions of alkali metals in ethylenediamine are reported. It was concluded that the species responsible for the spin resonance is the electron (rather than the monomer), and that the light absorption is due to the ...
