Nondestructive Method for Mapping Metal Contact Diffusion in In2O3 Thin-Film Transistors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The channel width-to-length ratio is an important transistor parameter for integrated circuit design. Contact diffusion into the channel during fabrication or operation alters the channel width and this important parameter.

Characterisation of Carbide Particles in S-65 Beryllium by Scanning Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy

open access: yesJournal of The Electrochemical Society, 2017
Scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy has been employed to examine the behaviour of second phase carbide particles in beryllium at different relative humidity levels and after exposure to deionised water. Carbides are believed to have a role in the localised corrosion of beryllium as a result of their hydrolysis when exposed at the metal surface.

Energy landscape in silver-bismuth-iodide rudorffites: Combining scanning tunneling spectroscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy

open access: yesPHYSICAL REVIEW MATERIALS, 2021
We report the energy landscape of an upcoming solar cell material series, namely, silver-bismuth-iodide rudorffites $({A}_{m}{B}_{n}{{X}_{m}}_{+3n})$. We formed the compounds through compositional engineering and characterized them.

Using SKPFM to Determine the Influence of Deformation-Induced Dislocations on the Volta Potential of Copper

open access: yesMetals, 2021
The variation rule of the Volta potential on deformed copper surfaces with the dislocation density is determined in this study by using electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) in conjunction with scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy (SKPFM).

A Comparative Investigation on the Corrosion Behavior of cast and rolled ZG21 Mg Alloys

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
ZG21 Mg alloys exhibit excellent deformation ability at room temperature. However, their corrosion behavior lacks sufficient investigation. The relationship between the second phases and micro-galvanic corrosion of ZG21 Mg alloys has been investigated ...

Combined Kelvin probe force microscopy and secondary ion mass spectrometry for hydrogen detection in corroded 2024 aluminium alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The capability of Kelvin probe force microscopy (KFM) to detect and locate hydrogen in corroded 2024 aluminium alloy was demonstrated. Hydrogen was introduced inside the 2024 alloy following a cyclic corrosion test consisting of cycles of immersion in 1 ...
