Coherence effects in Mie scattering [PDF]
The scattering of a partially coherent beam by a deterministic, spherical scatterer is studied. In particular, the Mie scattering by a Gaussian Schell-model beam is analyzed. Expressions are derived for (a) the extinguished power, (b) the radiant intensity of the scattered field, and (c) the encircled energy in the far field.

High frequency sound reduction by air shield
This paper deals with the acoustic shielding of especially high-frequency sound by jet (Air Shield). In the shear layer of the jet, sound waves incident on the jet undergo reflection and / or scattering.

A Theoretical-Study of the Scattering of Ultrasound from Blood [PDF]
A theoretical treatment of the scattering of ultrasound from blood is given, assuming that the blood behaves essentially as a continuum. The scattering then arises from fluctuations in the mass density and compressibility of the blood, which is caused by

Research on High Power Remote Pump Transmission System
The transmission distance of high power pump in the remote pump transmission system is limited. Considering this issue, a novel remote pump transmission scheme is proposed based on the principle of the randomly distributed feedback fiber laser, which ...

Extrapolated Speckle-Correlation Imaging
Imaging through scattering media is a longstanding issue in a wide range of applications, including biomedicine, security, and astronomy. Speckle-correlation imaging is promising for noninvasively seeing through scattering media by assuming shift ...

On the scattering Aharonov–Bohm effect [PDF]
Abstract In this paper we review some aspects of the scattering Aharonov–Bohm effect and Berry’s phase. Specifically, the problem of scattering of free 2d electrons on the system of an arbitrary number of parallel, infinitely thin and infinitely long coils (non-interacting, point magnetic fluxes) is modeled as free semi-classical ...

Acoustic scattering reduction in elastic materials with Bat optimization algorithm
A scattering-cancelation method is followed in this analysis. The opportunity to reduce the scattering effect in rigid cylinder with elastic cloaking material is investigated in the paper.

Light scattering in colloidal dispersions: Effects of multiple scattering
We outline the derivation of expressions for higher-order scattered electric field strengths, including both multiple inter- and intraparticle scattering events, although only the former are of practical interest. Next an ensemble-averaging procedure for calculating the averages of second-order quantities is proposed and subsequently applied to derive ...
