Coherence effects in Mie scattering [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2011
The scattering of a partially coherent beam by a deterministic, spherical scatterer is studied. In particular, the Mie scattering by a Gaussian Schell-model beam is analyzed. Expressions are derived for (a) the extinguished power, (b) the radiant intensity of the scattered field, and (c) the encircled energy in the far field.

A Theoretical-Study of the Scattering of Ultrasound from Blood [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 1981
A theoretical treatment of the scattering of ultrasound from blood is given, assuming that the blood behaves essentially as a continuum. The scattering then arises from fluctuations in the mass density and compressibility of the blood, which is caused by

Effective Scatterer Diameter Estimates for Broad Scatterer Size Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesUltrasonic Imaging, 2014
Acoustic form factors have been used to model the frequency dependence of acoustic scattering in phantoms and tissues. This work demonstrates that a broad range of scatterer sizes, individually well represented by Faran theory or a Gaussian form factor, is not accurately described by a single effective scatterer from either of these models ...

Research on High Power Remote Pump Transmission System

open access: yesGuangtongxin yanjiu, 2021
The transmission distance of high power pump in the remote pump transmission system is limited. Considering this issue, a novel remote pump transmission scheme is proposed based on the principle of the randomly distributed feedback fiber laser, which ...

Influence of Ag@SiO2 with Different Shell Thickness on Photoelectric Properties of Hole-Conductor-Free Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
In this paper, Ag@SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) with different shell thicknesses were prepared experimentally and introduced into the photosensitive layer of mesoscopic hole-conductor-free perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on carbon counter ...

Skew scattering due to intrinsic spin-orbit coupling in a two-dimensional electron gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present the generalization of the two-dimensional quantum scattering formalism to systems with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. Using symmetry considerations, we show that the differential scattering cross section depends on the spin state of the incident ...

Extrapolated Speckle-Correlation Imaging

open access: yesIntelligent Computing, 2022
Imaging through scattering media is a longstanding issue in a wide range of applications, including biomedicine, security, and astronomy. Speckle-correlation imaging is promising for noninvasively seeing through scattering media by assuming shift ...

All-optical scattering control in an all-dielectric quasi-perfect absorbing Huygens’ metasurface

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2022
In this paper, we theoretically and experimentally demonstrated photothermal nonlinearities of both forward and backward scattering intensities from quasi-perfect absorbing silicon-based metasurface with only λ/7 thickness. The metasurface is efficiently

Acoustic scattering reduction in elastic materials with Bat optimization algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2021
A scattering-cancelation method is followed in this analysis. The opportunity to reduce the scattering effect in rigid cylinder with elastic cloaking material is investigated in the paper.

Modern nuclear force predictions for the neutron-deuteron scattering lengths [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The nd doublet and quartet scattering lengths have been calculated based on the modern NN and 3N interactions. We also studied the effect of the electromagnetic interactions in the form introduced in AV18. Switching them off for the various nuclear force
