Model study of the electron-phonon coupling in graphene; relative importance of intraband and interband scattering

open access: yes, 2016
The aim of this model study of the electron-phonon coupling in graphene was to find out about the relative importance of the inter- and intraband scattering and which phonon modes are the most active.

Resonance Model for $\pi$N Scattering and $\eta$-Meson Production in the s$_{11}$ Channel [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
A model for $\pi$N scattering and $\eta$-meson production in the S$_{11}$ channel is presented. The model includes $\pi$N-scattering Born terms as well as the N$^*${} resonances S$_{11}$(1535) and S$_{11}$(1610).

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Improved Clutter Suppression and Detection of Moving Target with a Fully Polarimetric Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Remote sensing of moving targets, particularly pedestrians on the road, is crucial for advanced driver assistance systems. However, pedestrian detection using the radar system remains an ongoing challenge due to the radar cross section (RCS) of ...

Transfer scattering matrix of non-uniform surface acoustic wave transducers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1987
This paper is concerned with a general mathematical theory for finding the admittance matrix of a three-port non-uniform surface acoustic wave (SAW) network characterized by n unequal hybrid sections.

Magnetic Force Exerted by the Aharonov-Bohm Line

open access: yes, 1998
The problem of the scattering of a charge by the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) flux line is reconsidered in terms of finite width beams. It is shown that despite the left-right symmetry in the AB scattering cross-section, the charge is scattered asymmetrically. The

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Scattering matrix measurements and light-scattering calculations of calcite particles

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2011
We present measurements of the complete scattering matrix as a function of the scattering angle of a sample of calcite particles collected near Lecce, Italy.

Real Representation of the Polarimetric Scattering Matrix for Monostatic Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Synthetic aperture radar with polarimetric diversity is a powerful tool in remote sensing. Each pixel is described by the scattering matrix corresponding to the emission/reception polarization states (usually horizontal and vertical).

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
