Abstract Over 9 years of hourly surface current data from high‐frequency radar (HFR) off the US West Coast are analyzed using a Bayesian least‐squares fit for tidal components. The spatial resolution and geographic extent of HFR data allow us to assess the spatial structure of the non‐phase‐locked component of the tide.

Replication fidelity assessment of large area sub-μm structured polymer surfaces using scatterometry. [PDF]
The present study addresses one of the key challenges in the product quality control of transparent structured polymer substrates, the replication fidelity of sub-μm structures over a large area.

Intradermal injection of Cutibacterium acnes and staphylococcus: A pustular acne‐like murine model
Abstract Background Skin 16S microbiome diversity analysis indicates that the Staphylococcus genus, especially Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), plays a crucial role in the inflammatory lesions of acne. However, current animal models for acne do not fully replicate human diseases, especially pustular acne, which limits the development of anti‐acne ...

SCATTEROMETRY OF 50 NM HALF PITCH FEATURES [PDF]
Metrology technologies are an essential adjunct to Integrated Circuit (I.C.) Semiconductor manufacturing. Scatterometry, an optical metrology, was chosen to measure 50 nm half pitch feature structures.

Vertical Velocity Diagnosed From Surface Data With Machine Learning
Abstract Submesoscale vertical velocities, w, are important for the oceanic transport of heat and biogeochemical properties, but observing w is challenging. New remote sensing technologies of horizontal surface velocity at O(1) km resolution can resolve surface submesoscale dynamics and offer promise for diagnosing w subsurface.

Imaging scatterometry of butterfly wing scales
We describe an imaging scatterometer allowing hemispherical reflectance measurements as a function of the angle of incidence. The heart of the scatterometer is an ellipsoidal reflector, which compresses the hemispherical reflection into a cone-shaped beam that can be imaged by a normal optical system.
