Scavenger receptor, class B, type I (SR-BI) is a cell surface glycoprotein that mediates selective uptake and efflux of sterols from high density lipoproteins (HDL) to cells. A Chinese hamster ovary cell line that is deficient in functional LDL receptors,

Macrophage autophagy in atherosclerosis [PDF]
Macrophages play crucial roles in atherosclerotic immune responses. Recent investigation into macrophage autophagy (AP) in atherosclerosis has demonstrated a novel pathway through which these cells contribute to vascular inflammation.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Although sphingomyelin (SM) is a major phospholipid in lipoproteins as well as in the membrane rafts where the scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI) is localized, its possible role in the selective uptake of cholesteryl ester (CE) by the SR-BI ...

Scavenger receptor structure and function in health and disease. [PDF]
Scavenger receptors (SRs) are a 'superfamily' of membrane-bound receptors that were initially thought to bind and internalize modified low-density lipoprotein (LDL), though it is currently known to bind to a variety of ligands including endogenous ...

Quantitative analysis of SR-BI-dependent HDL retroendocytosis in hepatocytes and fibroblasts
Previous studies have suggested that HDL retroendocytosis may play a role in scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI)-dependent selective lipid uptake in a cell-specific manner.

This review provides the state‐of‐the‐art overview of halide perovskite‐based photocatalysts for hydrogen production from water and halogen acid solutions, CO2 reduction into value‐added chemicals, and organic chemical transformations. Different types of halide perovskite photocatalysts and their relative efficiencies for hydrogen generation and CO2 ...

LDLs stimulate p38 MAPKs and wound healing through SR-BI independently of Ras and PI3 kinases⃞
Intracellular signals elicited by LDLs are likely to play a role in the pathogenesis associated with increased LDL blood levels. We have previously determined that LDL stimulation of human skin fibroblasts, used as a model system for adventitial ...
