Scenario-based object-oriented testing framework

Third International Conference on Quality Software, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
This paper presents a scenario-based object-oriented test framework (SOOTF) for adaptive and rapid testing. The framework takes test scenario specification as input, prepares data for test execution, performs test execution, and evaluates test results with a database support.

Paradigms in Scenario-Based Testing for Automated Driving

2021 International Symposium on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering, 2021
Scenario-based testing is at present regarded as the enabling tool for the homologation of automated driving (AD) systems (SAE Level ≥ 3). This is mainly due to the aspiration of scenario-based testing for gaining understanding about the tested AD system, which provides support for arguments that shall convince ourselves about its capabilities.

Scenario‐based testing using symbolic animation of B models

Software Testing, Verification and Reliability, 2012
SUMMARYThis article presents a model‐based test generation technique, from user‐defined scenarios, for behavioral models expressed as B machines. Scenarios are expressed using a customized formalism, based on regular expressions, that makes it possible to describe sequences of operation calls possibly reaching specific states of the system.

Scenario-based object-oriented test frameworks for testing distributed systems

The Ninth IEEE Workshop on Future Trends of Distributed Computing Systems, 2003. FTDCS 2003. Proceedings., 2004
Testing is difficult and expensive, and testing distributed system even more difficult due to issues such as interoperability, collaboration, synchronization, timing, and concurrency. A tester often needs to spend significant time in developing lengthy testing code to ensure that the System Under Test (SUT) is reasonably well tested.

SCENTOR: scenario-based testing of e-business applications

Proceedings Tenth IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastructure for Collaborative Enterprises. WET ICE 2001, 2002
E-business software is often developed on a tight schedule, and testing needs to keep pace. The advice from proponents of approaches like extreme programming is that by testing continuously, it is actually possible to compress development cycles. In this paper, we discuss a testing approach that supports developers with their task of creating automated

Towards Scenario-Based Testing of UML Diagrams

2012
In model-driven engineering, models are not primarily developed for documentation and requirement specification purposes, but promoted to first-class artifacts, from which executable code is generated. As a consequence, typical development activities like testing must be performed on the model level.

An Efficient Scenario Based Testing Methodology Using UVM

2016 17th International Workshop on Microprocessor and SOC Test and Verification (MTV), 2016
Most of modern verification architects use randomness supported by system verilog (SV) to enable defining a generic path for a test to follow. This generic path stresses on a subset of features, and allows randomization to explore corners in depth. Setting up such test case requires a well-defined stimulus generation methodology that consumes less time

Scenario-based testing from UML/OCL behavioral models

International Journal on Software Tools for Technology Transfer, 2011
We present in this article a way to produce test suites applied to the POSIX mini-challenge based on a behavioral model of a file system manager written in UML/OCL. We illustrate the limitations of a fully automated test generation approach, which justifies the use of test scenarios as a complement to a functional testing approach.

Adaptive scenario-based object-oriented test frameworks for testing embedded systems

Proceedings 26th Annual International Computer Software and Applications, 2003
This paper presents a process to develop adaptive object-oriented scenario-based test frameworks for testing embedded systems. Embedded systems often require rigorous testing due to the mission-critical nature of their applications, and they are often developed as a family of products.

A Novel Approach for Scenario-Based Test Case Generation

2008 International Conference on Information Technology, 2008
Testing of software is a time-consuming activity which requires a great deal of planning and resources. Model-based testing is gaining importance as a research issue. In scenario-based testing, test scenarios are used for generating test cases, test drivers etc.
