Multimodal Semantic Fusion of Heterogeneous Data Silos

open access: yesSystems
Maintaining consistency in complex systems is a continuous challenge that requires active coordination. Data management systems often face the issue of segregated data silos due to various organizational and technical factors.

Joint Event Extraction Based on Hierarchical Event Schemas From FrameNet

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Event extraction is useful for many practical applications, such as news summarization and information retrieval. However, the popular automatic context extraction (ACE) event extraction program only defines very limited and coarse event schemas, which ...

Affective schemas: Acquisition, updating, and inference.

open access: yesEmotion
The importance of affective schemas for emotional behavior is well-established, but their properties remain poorly understood. Here, we examined affective schema acquisition (over a ~24-hour consolidation period), updating (assimilation and accommodation), and inference across three novel experimental paradigms.

Resilient Supply Chain Framework for Semiconductor Distribution and an Empirical Study of Demand Risk Inference

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
Supply chain uncertainty is high due to low information transparency in the upstream and downstream, long lead time for supply chain planning, short product life cycles, lengthy production cycle time, and continuous technology migration. The construction

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Knowledge Graph Representation Learning-Based Forest Fire Prediction

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Forest fires destroy the ecological environment and cause large property loss. There is much research in the field of geographic information that revolves around forest fires.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Schema support for forming inferences in the human brain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract Associative inference, the process of drawing novel links between existing knowledge to rapidly integrate associated information, is supported by the hippocampus and neocortex. Within the neocortex, the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) has been implicated in the rapid cortical learning of new information that is congruent with ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

The Effects of contextual Richness on the Guessability and the Retention of Words in a Foreign Language [PDF]

open access: yesTeaching English Language, 2007
This study tested three directional hypotheses: Compared with those receiving cue - inadequate sentences, subjects receiving cue – adequate sentences will 1) Report greater ease in word inference 2) Score higher in inferring and remembering the ...
