A mathematical analysis of a park-and-ride scheme
Transportation Research, 1978Abstract A mathematical analysis of a part-and-ride scheme coupled with a pedestrian precinct is made for the journey to work. The effects of speed ratios on major and access roads are calculated, together with the variation of time savings, for given speed ratios, with the number of parking stations available.

Mathematical modelling approach in web cache scheme
2011 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems, 2011A scalable website garantee future information system by supporting additional users. Web caching has been proven to be a highly efficient method in reducing the network bandwidth consumption, as well as improving website scalability. In a web cache placement strategy, an important issue is to utilize the available resources by performing a cache ...

The GAMS classification scheme for mathematical and statistical software
ACM SIGNUM Newsletter, 1983An extensive tree-structured problem-oriented scheme for classifying mathematical and statistical software is presented. The scheme is a substantially modified version of a scheme proposed by Bolstad, which was based on the widely-used SHARE system. It is an attempt to reflect more accurately the current state of mathematical and statistical software ...

Summary: We study the convergence behavior of a sequence of stationary points of a parametric NLP which regularizes a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints (MPEC) in the form of complementarity conditions. Accumulation points are feasible points of the MPEC; they are C-stationary if the MPEC linear independence constraint qualification ...

Semistochastic decomposition scheme in mathematical programming and game theory
Kybernetika, 1991Summary: This work deals with the optimization problem \(\sup_{x\in X}\inf_{y\in Y} S(x,y)\), which plays undoubtedly a crucial part in mathematical programming and game theory. On the basis of probability theory, a solution approach --- semistochastic decomposition --- is proposed.
