Haematuria in experimental schistosomiasis mansoni

Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1983
Haematuria was found in 27% of mice experimentally infected with Schistosoma mansoni. The presence of red blood cells in the urine was detected only after the sixth week of infection. Haematuria was not due to the direct action of the parasite, since no eggs were found in the urinary system.
