Panstromal Schnyder's corneal dystrophy. Ultrastructural and histochemical studies.

Ophthalmology, 1992
A large cohort comprising four kindreds of patients with Schnyder's dystrophy has been identified in central Massachusetts. All patients were Swede-Finn with ancestry from the southwest Finnish coast on the Bay of Bothnia.Of 60 members of this cohort examined by one of the authors (JSW), 18 had evidence of Schnyder's dystrophy. [Schnyder's crystalline-like corneal dystrophy: a case report].

Journal francais d'ophtalmologie, 2010
Schnyder's crystalline corneal dystrophy is a rare bilateral hereditary disease with various clinical features. It typically presents as a central disc-like opacification with or without crystalline deposits. Cholesterol turnover in hereditary crystalline corneal dystrophy of Schnyder.

Transactions of the American Ophthalmological Society, 1979
A patient with hereditary crystalline corneal dystrophy of Schnyder required penetrating keratoplasty because of poor visual acuity. Blood cholesterol was labeled with 14C-cholesterol and 11 days later a penetrating keratoplasty was done. At the time of surgery, corneal levels of cholesterol were much higher than serum levels, showing that cornea is an
