A Xanthine Derivative With Novel Heat Shock Protein 90‐Alpha Inhibitory and Senolytic Properties
This study aimed to find safe senolytic drugs that selectively eliminate senescent cells. Focusing on HSP90 inhibitors, we employed a virtual screening to identify novel, safer compounds (A). K5, a xanthinic candidate, effectively eliminated senescent cells in various cellular models (B), extended lifespan in flies, and reduced aging signs in mice (C).

The Geometry of Color in the Light of a Non‐Riemannian Space
Abstract We formalize Schrödinger's definitions of hue, saturation, and lightness, building on the foundational idea from Helmholtz that these perceptual attributes can be derived solely from the perceptual metric. We identify three shortcomings in Schrödinger's approach and propose solutions to them.

Rare dysfunctional SCN2A variants are associated with malformation of cortical development
Abstract Objective SCN2A encodes the voltage‐gated sodium (Na+) channel α subunit NaV1.2, which is important for the generation and forward and back propagation of action potentials in neurons. Genetic variants in SCN2A are associated with a spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders.

A signal transduction blind spot: the function of adenylyl cyclase transmembrane domains
Transmembrane adenylyl cyclases (tmACs) are essential for synthesising the universal second messenger cyclic AMP. All tmACs share a common topology that includes a large 12‐helix transmembrane (TM) domain. This domain accounts for ~ 35% of the coding sequence but its function is still an open question.

Molybdenum‐dependent formate dehydrogenases (Mo‐FDHs) contain a strictly conserved lysine residue (K44) in the vicinity of an electron‐transferring [4Fe‐4S] cluster and a catalytically active molybdenum atom coordinated by two molybdopterins (MPT‐1 and MPT‐2).

Pharmacological manipulation of liver fibrosis progression using novel HDAC6 inhibitors
Chronic liver injury can lead to severe conditions such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. Unfortunately, there are no effective treatments to halt or reverse liver fibrosis, which makes new therapeutic strategies essential. This study focuses on the role of histone deacetylases (HDACs) in liver fibrosis, particularly HDAC6.

First‐in‐class inhibitors of SbnA reduce siderophore production in Staphylococcus aureus
The production of the iron‐chelating compound staphyloferrin B by the most invasive S. aureus strains is crucial for colonization, virulence, and survival in the host. Staphyloferrin B biosynthesis is carried out by eight enzymes, the Sbn system, that offer an appealing source of potential targets for the development of antimicrobials.
