‐numbers of the inverse Schrödinger operator

open access: yes, 2019
In this article, we investigate the discreteness and some other properties of the spectrum for the Schrödinger operator L defined by the formula LY=-d 2 y/dx 2 +A(A+I)/x 2 y+Q(x)y on the space L 2 (H, [0, ?)), where H is a Hilbert space.

Crystal structure of fucoxanthin: resolving a long‐standing crystallographic challenge

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section C, EarlyView.
The first small‐molecule single‐crystal X‐ray structure of fucoxanthin is reported, resolving a long‐standing crystallographic problem in carotenoid structural chemistry.Fucoxanthin (C42H58O6) is a highly functionalized allenic epoxy xanthophyll containing hydroxy, acetoxy, ketone and conjugated polyene units.

Targeting hexokinase 2 to induce breast cancer cell senescence

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Hexokinase 2 (HK2) is a key enzyme linked to high tumour cell proliferation. Its inhibitors such as 3‐bromopyruvic acid (3‐BP) induce cancer cell death, highlighting HK2 modulation as potential anti‐cancer treatment. However, standard chemotherapies often cause the emergence of senescent cancer cells, which goes along with cell ...

Positive modulation of glucagon‐like peptide 1 (GLP‐1) receptor by endogenous haemorphins with implications in glucose metabolism and diabetes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Haemorphins act on GLP‐1 receptor (GLP‐1R) activity and signalling in a positive allosteric manner. This leads to potentiated GLP‐1‐mediated activity and signalling, as well as insulin synthesis, which may have implications for glucose metabolism and, thereby, diabetes and obesity. (The graph was created in BioRender.com).

EvolvED: Evolutionary Embeddings to Understand the Generation Process of Diffusion Models

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
EvolvED visualises how diffusion models generate images by embedding intermediate outputs to preserve semantics and evolutionary structure. It supports analysis via (a) user‐defined goals and prompts, (b) sampling intermediate images, (c) extracting relevant features, and (d) visualising them in structured radial and rectilinear layouts for ...

An Operator Theoretic Interpretation of the Generalized Titchmarsh–Weyl Function for Perturbed Spherical Schrödinger Operators

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper the operator theoretic interpretation of the generalized Titchmarsh–Weyl function is extended to the perturbed spherical Schrödinger operator.

Eigenvalue counting estimates for a class of linear spectral pencils with applications to zero modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Consider a linear spectral pencil of the form P(−i∇)− zQ(x), z ∈ C. If P−1 ∈ weak-Lp and Q ∈ Lp for some 1 < p

Structural dualities between the Schrödinger equation and its ultra-slow-light counterpart in one spatial and one temporal dimension

open access: yesScientific Reports
Extreme kinematic limits of space-time symmetries reveal alternative forms of quantum behaviour. In the Carrollian limit the speed of light is taken to zero ( $$c \rightarrow 0$$ ): causal light cones collapse onto the time axis, spatial points become ...

A Biweekly GLP‐1R Agonist Designed With Drug‐Free Intervals for Enhanced Efficacy, Receptor Homeostasis and Gastrointestinal Tolerability

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To develop a next‐generation, longer‐acting, more‐clinical‐benefits agonist to achieve sustained efficacy with improved tolerability. Methods CT130 was designed from semaglutide. Binding affinity was validated via molecular dynamics and cellular assays.

Genetic dissection reveals distinct contributions of the eS31 N‐terminal domain to translational accuracy in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The eukaryote‐specific N‐terminal domain (NTD) of eS31 uses two distinct strategies to maintain translation fidelity. During elongation, a positively charged “hotspot” fine‐tunes the selection of incoming aa‐tRNA. During termination, the entire NTD acts as a structural scaffold to ensure the correct positioning of the release factor eRF1.
