Correcting the Coordinates for Old Novae V707 Sco and V721 Sco

open access: yesResearch Notes of the AAS
Abstract V707 Sco (Nova Sco 1922) and V721 Sco (Nova Sco 1950 no. 3) were both faint, poorly observed, classical novae near the Sting of the Scorpion. Both have substantially incorrect cataloged coordinates. I have recovered the correct coordinates by going back to the original Harvard archival plates.

Integrative utilization of genomic resources for improved phylogenetic resolution in Sonerileae (Melastomataceae)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Premise Advances in new next‐generation sequencing (NGS) methods have revolutionized phylogenetics, yet challenges remain in effectively utilizing data from a wide range of sources. A well‐resolved and broadly sampled phylogeny for Sonerileae, the second‐largest tribe in Melastomataceae, is still lacking, hindering our understanding of its ...

Reversible I2 Uptake Induces Record‐High Spin‐Crossover Hysteresis in a Fe(II) Hofmann‐Type MOF

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 21, 1 June 2026.
Reversible iodine uptake in a flexible Fe(II) Hofmann‐type MOF [Fe(pz)Pd(CN)4] induces record‐wide SCO hysteresis. Gas‐phase I2 acts as internal chemical pressure, stabilizing both high‐spin and LS states without altering the framework, providing a general strategy for tunable bistability in coordination networks.
