Analyses of morphometric data suggest that there are two species within the genus Rastrelliger, namely brachysoma and kanagurta. Rastrelliger neglectus is considered to be a synonym of R. brachysoma. Both species exhibit intraspecific geographical variations in some of their morphological characters.

The survey of fish larvae assemblage variation was done in 2013 seasonally at the coastal areas of Southeastern side of Chabahar Bay. Sampling was done in 3 stations at day and night periods by a Bongo-Net with 300μ of mesh size.

Bu çalışmada, Scombridae ailesine ait ve ülkemiz denizlerinden örneklenen Auxis rochei, Euthynnus alletteratus, Sarda sarda, Scomber japonicus, Scomber scombrus, Scomberomorus commerson, Thunnus alalunga türleri incelenmiştir. Türlerin mtDNA üzerinde bulunan Sitokrom b, 12S rRNA ve COI bölgeleri PZR ile çoğaltılmış ve dizi analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir.
