This study reports four rare events of spiders preying on vertebrates in the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Southwest China. The predators included a giant golden orb‐weaver, huntsman spiders, and a wandering spider, while the prey consisted of a small bird, a blind snake, a gecko, and a tiny shrew.

In this study, we used ecological niche models to map the distribution of eight of the most dangerous scorpion species to quantify sting risk across Iran. We identified the areas where people are most vulnerable to scorpion stings based on exposure to scorpions and limited accessibility to healthcare centers.

Proposed mechanism by which CD36 participates in generation of ROS and activation of leukocytes in the circulation and microvascular endothelium of lung tissue after reperfusion of an ischemic limb. Treatment with EP 80317, the CD36 modulator, decreased remote leukocyte recruitment, lipid mediators, cytokines, and lung tissue damage.
