Acute kidney injury and pancreatitis due to scorpion sting: case report and literature review
Despite the high number of accidents due to scorpion stings in Brazil, severe cases in adults are seldomly reported. In the Northeast region of Brazil, Tityus stigmurus is the most prevalent species.

Prey specificity of predatory venoms
ABSTRACT Venom represents a key adaptation of many venomous predators, allowing them to immobilise prey quickly through chemical rather than physical warfare. Evolutionary arms races between prey and a predator are believed to be the main factor influencing the potency and composition of predatory venoms.

δ‐Conotoxins are a diverse class of peptides that inhibit the inactivation of voltage‐gated sodium channels – proteins implicated in many human diseases – but which remain poorly characterized. Computational modeling of 18 different δ‐conotoxins using traditional and deep learning techniques uncovers structural features underlying the varying ...

Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia and Cardiogenic Shock due to Scorpion Envenomation
We describe a case of severe scorpion envenomation in an adult patient, with the presence of very rapid sustained ventricular tachycardia followed by cardiogenic shock, which was reversed by scorpion antivenom administration.

Abstract Broadly‐neutralizing monoclonal antibodies are becoming increasingly important tools for treating infectious diseases and animal envenomings. However, designing and developing broadly‐neutralizing antibodies can be cumbersome using traditional low‐throughput iterative protein engineering methods. Here, we present a new high‐throughput approach

Scorpion envenomation-induced acute thrombotic inferior myocardial infarction
The occurrence of a serious cardiac emergency following scorpion envenomation has rarely been reported and, when so, mostly presented as non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, or myocarditis.
