Effect of the Backward Facing Step on a Transverse Jet in Supersonic Crossflow

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
A transverse jet in the supersonic crossflow is one of the most promising injection schemes in scramjet, where the control or enhancement of jet mixing is a critical issue.

Analysis of the Shock Wave/Boundary Layer Interaction considering a Compression Corner Model Using the MacCormack Method

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
The objective of this paper is to numerically study the shock wave/boundary layer interaction and boundary layer separation. The first stage of this research is the development of methodology, flow simulations, and data analysis. When comparing the plots, it can be seen that the results of the check of the methodology were similar.

Rate Constants and Energetics of the H2SiO + H Reaction System: RP-VTST/MT and VRC Calculations. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Comput Chem
The decomposition of Silaformaldehyde (H2SiO) involves three reactions: H + H2SiO → H2 + HSiO (R1), H + H2SiO → H2SiOH (R2), and H + H2SiO → H3SiO (R3). Accurate energetics were calculated using ωB97X‐D and CCSD(T), and rate constants using CVT methods with multidimensional tunneling.

The Influence of Bleeding Direction on Starting Performance of Three‐Dimensional Inward Turning Inlet

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Bleeding is an effective method to improve the starting performance of the inlet, and the conventional method often adopts the bleeding to longitudinal direction. This article proposes the use of transversal bleeding method to explore the influence on starting capacity by changing the bleeding direction. The paper designs 6 bleeding inlets.

Kernel‐based active subspaces with application to computational fluid dynamics parametric problems using the discontinuous Galerkin method

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 123, Issue 23, Page 6000-6027, 15 December 2022., 2022
Abstract Nonlinear extensions to the active subspaces method have brought remarkable results for dimension reduction in the parameter space and response surface design. We further develop a kernel‐based nonlinear method. In particular, we introduce it in a broader mathematical framework that contemplates also the reduction in parameter space of ...

Pseudo-shock waves and their interactions in high-speed intakes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In an air-breathing engine the flow deceleration from supersonic to subsonic conditions takes places inside the isolator through a gradual compression consisting of a series of shock waves.

Effects of Chamber Width on H2/Air Rotating Detonations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2020
To get the effects of chamber width on the H2/Air rotating detonations, several models with different widths have been investigated. By using a one-step chemical reaction model, one wave is induced in all models.
