ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.

Association of TGF-β1 with periodontitis patients in north Indian population
Introduction: Periodontitis is a complex disease caused by environmental and genetic factors. The course of periodontal destruction is influenced by local, ecological, and, predominantly, by genetic factors.

PROTEINS OF PAROTOID GLAND SECRETIONS FROM TOADS OF THE GENUS BUFO [PDF]
Freeze-dried parotoid gland secretions from toads of the genus Bufo contained large proportions of protein (25-35% by weight). SDS-PAGE suggested that secretions from several species of Bufo contained mixtures of proteins in the relative molecular mass ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Symmetric Disjunctive List-Decoding Codes
A binary code is said to be a disjunctive list-decoding $s_L$-code (LD $s_L$-code), $s \ge 2$, $L \ge 1$, if the code is identified by the incidence matrix of a family of finite sets in which the union (or disjunctive sum) of any $s$ sets can cover not ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Entropy of the three dimensional Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole
We study the three dimensional Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS$_3$) black hole which corresponds essentially to a conical defect. We compute the mass of the SdS$_3$ black hole from the correct definition of the mass in asymptotically de Sitter space.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Quasinormal modes for the SdS black hole : an analytical approximation scheme
Quasinormal modes for scalar field perturbations of a Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) black hole are investigated. An analytical approximation is proposed for the problem.
