SEAKEEPING AND COMBAT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE – THE OPERATORS‘ ASSESSMENT
Naval Engineers Journal, 1983ABSTRACTIn a recent effort to improve our assessment of the Comparative seakeeping performance of existing U.S. Navy ships, a seakeeping questionnaire was distributed to the Commanding Officers of U.S. Navy frigates, destroyers, and cruisers. The objectives were to determine, (1) the operational availability of existing weapons and sensors in relation ...

Numerical Study on Seakeeping Performance of a Damaged Ship
Volume 9: Rodney Eatock Taylor Honoring Symposium on Marine and Offshore Hydrodynamics; Takeshi Kinoshita Honoring Symposium on Offshore Technology, 2019Abstract Ships sailing in the sea may encounter collision, grounding or projectile impacting accidents, which may cause hull damage and subsequent compartment flooding. Due to the effect of the flooding water induced moment and the restoring moment, the damaged ship may have inclination and rolling motion.

Service – performance and seakeeping trials on a car-ferry
International Shipbuilding Progress, 1970The present analysis of performance data, gathered on the car-ferry m.s. ROI BAUDOUIN, has been largely based on the properties of the apparent slip. The assumption of invariability of wake in this special case of a twin-screw vessel enables the authors to map out a generalized power diagram, that remains unaffected by fouling of the hull.

Improvement of Destroyer Performance Through Optimised Seakeeping Design
NAVTEC 90 - Interaction Between Naval Weapons Systems and Warship Design (2 Volumes), 1990Abstract : This paper will describe the effect of system location and hull form optimization on a destroyer class ship for three missions. The three missions considered are towed array deployment, gun fire, and underway replenishment. They are all typical destroyer missions; yet, the motion requirements are all different.

Full Scale.Measurements On Seakeeping Performance Of Plant Barge In Aseaway
Offshore Technology Conference, 1980ABSTRACT If massive machinery and equipment constituting a plant could be prefabricated and assembled aboard a barge and towed on a river and/or sea to the plant site, the plant construction involved under various difficult conditions would become easy and the whole construction cost and period would be minimized ...

Seakeeping Performance of NASA’s Orion Crew Module
SNAME 29th American Towing Tank Conference, 2010In the winter of 2008, NASA’s Constellation Program Office initiated a full scale experimental program to quantify the hydrodynamic performance of the Orion Crew Module. The intent of such an experiment was to give real world experience to the DoD recovery forces tasked with recovery of the astronauts and CM after splashdown. The Seakeeping and Marine &

Seakeeping Performance of Fishing Vessels In The Portuguese EConomic Zone
Seakeeping and Weather, 1995The seakeeping performance of fishing vessels is related to some critical values of motion related variables. The motions and accelerations of fishing vessels of different size and type are assessed using linear strip theory methods. Their response to irregular sea states is determined by the special approach and short- term and long-term predictions ...

Seakeeping performance prediction program SKP
1988Description of a computer program which computes predictions of operability time for ships in a seaway is given. The calculations are based on frequency transfer functions of the different ship responses to waves and proceeded in a seaway using operability limiting response criteria which are partly stored in the program and partly to be defined by the

Charcteristics of Seakeeping Performance of Philippine Outrigger Craft.
2002The Core-University Scientific Corporation Program has started between Philippines and Japan from 1998. The project of fishing craft is conducted to improve the performance of Philippine outrigger craft. Most fishing craft of the Philippines are constructed in the double outrigger form with a main hull and floats at both sides.
