Ultrasonic endodontic sealer placement
Journal of Endodontics, 1988The use of ultrasonic energy for applying sealer tothe root canal system was investigated. A method of ultrasonic sealer placement was described. This in vitro study using human mandibular molars compared hand instruments with ultrasonics for sealer application.

Sealer Distribution in Coronal Dentin
Journal of Endodontics, 2002A major cause of tooth discoloration is sealer remnants in the pulp chamber after root canal treatment. The purpose of this study was to assess coronal distribution and color changes of four commonly used sealers placed in the pulp chamber after 2 yr. Fifty extracted premolars were cross-sectioned in the coronal third of the root.

The rheologic properties of endodontic sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1978The rheologic properties of seven endodontic sealers were investigated with a rotational viscometer. The effects of time and rate of shear on the measured viscosities were determined. Results indicated that one material exhibited Newtonian behavior, whereas the others were characterized by pseudoplasticity.

Radiopacity of root canal sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1981A standardized and reproducible method of radiopacity measurements of dental materials is presented. The method entails densitometric comparison of standard-sized specimens with an aluminum step wedge under controlled conditions for exposure and film processing. Methodologic aspects have been evaluated and discussed.

The effect of endodontic sealers on bone
Journal of Endodontics, 1980Zinc oxide and eugenol (ZOE) and ZOE with 6% paraformaldehyde were implanted in vivo in the mandibles of dogs. ZOE produced a zone of changes in the bone which appeared to increase in size through the four-week term of the study. ZOE with paraformaldehyde produced a zone which was generally smaller than that of the ZOE specimens, with possible fixation
