Image searching on the Excite Web search engine [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Processing & Management, 2001
A growing body of research is beginning to explore the information-seeking behavior of Web users. The vast majority of these studies have concentrated on the area of textual information retrieval (IR). Little research has examined how people search for non-textual information on the Internet, and few large-scale studies has investigated visual ...

CircCCNB1 inhibits vasculogenic mimicry by sequestering NF90 to promote miR‐15b‐5p and miR‐7‐1‐3p processing in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

The Essence of the Essence from the Web:The Metasearch Engine [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Conference on IT, HIT, March 19-21, 2007 (Vol-II)
The exponential growth of information source on the web and in turn continuing technological progress of searching the information by using tools like Search Engines gives rise to many problems for the user to know which tool is best for their query and which tool is not.

DYNIQX: A novel meta-search engine for the web [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The effect of metadata in collection fusion has not been sufficiently studied. In response to this, we present a novel meta-search engine called Dyniqx for metadata based search. Dyniqx integrates search results from search services of documents, images,

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Eye-Tracking Studies of Web Search Engines: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesInformation, 2020
This paper analyzes peer-reviewed empirical eye-tracking studies of behavior in web search engines. A framework is created to examine the effectiveness of eye-tracking by drawing on the results of, and discussions concerning previous experiments.

A functionality taxonomy for document search engines [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper a functionality taxonomy for document search engines is proposed. It can be used to assess the features of a search engine, to position search engines relative to each other, or to select which search engine 'fits' a certain situation. One is able to identify areas for improvement.

Foraging patterns in online searches [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 95, 032145 (2017), 2017
Nowadays online searches are undeniably the most common form of information gathering, as witnessed by billions of clicks generated each day on search engines. In this work we describe online searches as foraging processes that take place on the semi-infinite line.
