Effects of Radar Interference on Search Radar Operator Performance
1977 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1977The paper describes results of a study whose primary objective was to estimate a level (or levels) of radar-caused interference whose presence would not significantly affect the performance of search-radar operators, using plan-position indicator (PPI) displays.

High-dimensional data sets are no longer an exception in the world of data scientists or even ordinary users. Nowadays nearly everybody gets in touch with high-dimensional data, sometimes without realizing it. Thinking of your favourite web search engine where entering a query leads to thousands of (somehow) ranked results like documents, tables ...

Advanced signal processing improves search radar
2006 International Radar Symposium, 2006Modern fast signal processing can improve search radar performance significantly. Fast sampling will allow wide bandwidths, higher range resolution, an enhanced digital pulse compression ratio and dynamic range, less clutter and better ECCM. This paper reminds and analyzes what has become possible [1].

Eye Movements During Simulated Radar Search
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1960The electrical method of eye-movement recording (the electro-oculogram, or EOG) was utilized to study visual search behavior while subjects monitored simulated radar displays. Information was obtained regarding the pattern of search employed, and the spatial distribution and duration of fixations.

Search strategies for radar target localization
Proceedings 1999 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. 99CH36348), 2003In this paper we discuss and compare different hierarchical search strategies for stationary radar target localization in the presence of white Gaussian noise. This is done in the context of a discretized version of the problem of optimal beam-forming, or radar transmit and receive pattern design.

A new Seagull shipborne search radar
Proceedings of International Radar Conference, 2002A lately developed and designed S-band 2D shipborne radar with full coherence for air and surface targets is introduced. Advanced techniques in modern radar such as the amplification chain transmitter, the chirp compression, the MTD signal processor and the interpulse frequency agility etc.

Clutter suppression in search radars
1977 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the 16th Symposium on Adaptive Processes and A Special Symposium on Fuzzy Set Theory and Applications, 1977A comparison of MTI and Optimum Pulse-Doppler processors is presented for the case where they coherently process the same number of pulses in a radar dwell. These results are presented in terms of probability of detection versus signal-to-noise or signal-to-clutter ratio, for a fixed false alarm probability.

Search Radar Cumulative Probability of Detection
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1973A procedure is presented for computing radar range performance for different types of radars. It is associated with any arbitrary cumulative probability of detection and false alarm probability for a search radar when scanning uniformly. The emphasis is on presenting a model for engineering use, rather than on its theoretical justification.

Digital redesign of analog search radar
2017 International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT), 2017This paper describes aspects of design, computational electronics hardware design, micro-controller and Personal Computer (PC) software for the realization of a replacement for a vacuum tube based Surface to Air Guided Weapons System Search Radar (SAGW). The redesigned digital radar system had to interface with 1970s vintage analog SAGW system.
