Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A novel approach for the prediction of treadmill test in cardiology using data mining algorithms implemented as a mobile application

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2018
Objective: To develop a mobile app called “TMT Predict” to predict the results of Treadmill Test (TMT), using data mining techniques applied to a clinical dataset using minimal clinical attributes. To prospectively test the results of the app in realtime

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Quantum complexities of ordered searching, sorting, and element distinctness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We consider the quantum complexities of the following three problems: searching an ordered list, sorting an un-ordered list, and deciding whether the numbers in a list are all distinct.

Architecture modeling for system collaborative combat based on unified architecture framework (UAF) [PDF]

open access: yesZhihui kongzhi yu fangzhen
Facing the continuous improvement of war complexity under the trend of system-of-systems confrontation, this paper introduces MBSE to the modeling design of complex system-of-systems combat. Adopting Unified Architecture Framework, a modeling method based

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Fast Algorithms for Sorting and Searching Strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present theoretical algorithms for sorting and searching multikey data, and derive from them practical C implementations for applications in which keys are character strings.
