Metastatic Unfunctional Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor in Lynch Syndrome
ABSTRACT Lynch syndrome (LS), a well‐known cancer risk syndrome, is caused by deleterious germline mutations in the mismatch repair genes. LS predispose patients to various types of cancers including colon adenocarcinoma. We discuss the case of a woman with LS who also developed a non‐functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (P‐NET) following ...

ABSTRACT We describe a 45‐year‐old male with autoimmune encephalitis and recurrent tonic–clonic seizures. In addition to receiving standard immunotherapy, he adopted a Mediterranean diet as adjunctive therapy. Six months later, brain MRI showed resolution of the hippocampal hyperintensities and a reduction in periventricular white matter changes; EEG ...

We developed HMCCNs@MAN, a biomimetic drug–gas codelivery platform for precise mild photothermal immunotherapy of liver fibrosis. Coated with hybrid macrophage‐aHSC membranes, it enables dual‐targeted delivery of MAN to the hepatic fibrosis site. Under NIR laser irradiation, HMCCNs@MAN can generate oxygen, release MAN, and produce heat.

Alliinase: A Comprehensive Review of the Pivotal Enzyme in Garlic Chemistry and Its Applications
Garlic crude extract was purified to obtain alliinase, which catalyzes alliin hydrolysis to release allicin. The free and immobilized alliinase shows potential applications in food, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, health products, and biosensors. ABSTRACT Alliinase is a pyridoxal 5′‐phosphate (PLP)‐dependent lyase that serves as the cornerstone of the ...

Glucuronic acid (GlcA), a key bioactive component of Phellinus igniarius polysaccharides (PIPs), downregulates the expression of the transcription factor SREBP1, thereby suppressing the transcription of its downstream lipogenic enzymes FASN and SCD1. This action leads to reduced lipid accumulation and alleviation of NAFLD.
