Sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma of salivary glands
Annals of Diagnostic Pathology, 2003Primary sebaceous neoplasms of the salivary glands are extremely rare occurrences; furthermore, sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma has only been reported in three patients. We report a case of sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma arising in a lymphadenoma of the parotid gland. The patient was a 55-year-old man who presented with a parotid mass of 3 years' duration.

Control and function of sebaceous glands
This review describes the various types of sebaceous glands, their locations, and where possible their different functions. All sebaceous glands are similar in structure and secrete sebum by a holocrine process. However, the nature of this secretion and

Abstract A case is reported of a large sebaceous gland carcinoma of the buttock; this case is unique because of the atypical location of the tumor and because of its large size. The tumor was also the probable cause of a severe anemia. The subject of sebaceous gland malignancy is reviewed and the relative rarity of the lesion noted.

To the Editor. —Drs Doxanas and Green 1 have written an informative, useful article on sebaceous gland carcinoma. However, one statement concerning treatment is open to question: "If the pagetoid involvement is quite diffuse, one may elect to excise the carcinoma using frozen-section control, and leave the conjunctiva and lid margins intact if the ...

Neoplasms with sebaceous differentiation cover a broad spectrum. They range from benign sebaceous hyperplasia and adenomas to locally infiltrative sebaceous epitheliomas which have biologic behaviors similar to basal cell carcinomas, to sebaceous carcinomas which can have very malignant biologic behaviors.

SEBACEOUS GLANDS IN THE TONGUE
Archives of Dermatology, 1954THE SEBACEOUS glands are prominent adnexal components of the skin, which are normally found either closely associated with hair follicles to form the pilosebaceous apparatuses, or are found independently, but nevertheless in areas of the skin where follicles are present in greater or smaller numbers.

Sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma of parotid gland
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2006The sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma of the salivary glands is extremely rare and represents carcinomatous transformation of sebaceous lymphadenoma. There are only four reported patients in the medical literature. A patient who presented with a recent increase of a left infraauricular mass, of more than 10 years duration, underwent surgery.

As studied in samples of dorsal skin taken at biopsy and measured by sebaceous cell counts, the sebaceous alveoli of immature female rats increased in size for 2 days after the implantation of 1 mg. of oestradiol benzoate, and decreased progressively on days 3, 5 and 9 to a level much below normal on day 20.

Demodex Infestation of the Sebaceous Gland
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1983While studying facial skin specimens by light microscopy, we noted a demodectic infestation of a sebaceous gland that showed interesting features. These specimens had been embedded in paraffin, sectioned, and stained with hematoxylin and eosin.

The discovery of the sebaceous glands has been attributed to Gurlt. 1 As early as 1846, Horner 2 commented on the fact that "the sebaceous organs furnish the oily exhalations which lubricate the surface of the skin, give linen when worn a long time a greasy appearance and cause the water in which we bathe to assemble in drops on the surface of the body
