Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Strong-field-assisted x-ray second harmonic generation
We theoretically demonstrate x-ray second harmonic generation (SHG) with strong-field-driven high harmonic generation (HHG) from core electrons in gas-phase atoms, highlighting its potential as a powerful spectroscopic tool for studying atomic and ...

Optical second harmonic generation in encapsulated single-layer InSe
We report the observation of optical second harmonic generation (SHG) in single-layer indium selenide (InSe). We measure a second harmonic signal of > 103 cts/s under nonresonant excitation using a home-built confocal microscope and a standard pulsed ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Frequency comb generation threshold via second-harmonic excitation in χ(2) optical microresonators
We investigate the threshold of χ(2) frequency comb generation in lithium niobate whispering gallery microresonators theoretically and experimentally. When generating a frequency comb via second-harmonic excitation, also commonly known as second-harmonic

Efficient Enhancement of Second Harmonic Generation via Noninvasive Modulation
Second harmonic generation has been widely applied in various fields. High second harmonic intensity can facilitate optical imaging, signal sensing, and detection. Thus, enhancing the intensity of the second harmonic is a significant work.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Interlayer exciton mediated second harmonic generation in bilayer MoS2
Efficient second-harmonic generation (SHG) occurs for crystals with broken inversion symmetry, such as transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers. Here the authors show SHG tuning in bilayer MoS2 - an inversion-symmetric crystal - mediated by interlayer ...

We present three different linearizable extensions of the Gurevich-Zybin system. Their general solutions are found by reciprocal transformations. In this paper we rewrite the Gurevich-Zybin system as a Monge-Ampere equation.
