Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Second order brane cosmology with radion stabilization
We study cosmology in the five-dimensional Randall-Sundrum brane-world with a stabilizing effective potential for the radion and matter localized on the branes.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Comparison theorems for second-order neutral differential equations of mixed type
Three comparison theorems are established for the oscillation of the second-order neutral differential equations of mixed type $$ ig(r(t)[x(t)+p_1(t)x(t-sigma_1)+p_2(t)x(t+sigma_2)]'ig)' +q_1(t)x(t-sigma_3) +q_2(t)x(t+sigma_4)=0. $$ Our results are

Second-Order Gravitational Self-Force [PDF]
Using a rigorous method of matched asymptotic expansions, I derive the equation of motion of a small, compact body in an external vacuum spacetime through second order in the body's mass (neglecting effects of internal structure). The motion is found to be geodesic in a certain locally defined regular geometry satisfying Einstein's equation at second ...

Second-Order Weight Distributions
A fundamental property of codes, the second-order weight distribution, is proposed to solve the problems such as computing second moments of weight distributions of linear code ensembles.

At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

Second-Order Sliding Mode Guidance Law considering Second-Order Dynamics of Autopilot
Aiming at the requirement that some missiles need to meet certain impact angles when attacking targets, we consider the second-order dynamic characteristics of autopilot, thereby proposing a second-order sliding mode guidance law with impact angle ...

Forced oscillation of second-order superlinear dynamic equations on time scales
In this paper, by constructing a class of Philos type functions on time scales, we investigate the oscillation of the following second-order forced nonlinear dynamic equation $$x^{\Delta\Delta}(t)-p(t)|x(q(t))|^{\lambda-1}x(q(t))=e(t),\quad t\in\mathbb{T}
