Asymptotic Preserving time-discretization of optimal control problems for the Goldstein-Taylor model [PDF]
We consider the development of implicit-explicit time integration schemes for optimal control problems governed by the Goldstein-Taylor model. In the diffusive scaling this model is a hyperbolic approximation to the heat equation.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

BACKLUND TRANSFORMATIONS FOR LIOUVILLE’S EQUATIONS WITH EXPONENTIAL NONLINEARITY
Background. The study of Backlund 's transformations is one of the current topics in the theory of differential equations in partial derivatives. Such transformations are used to find solutions to nonlinear differential equations, including solitonic ...

This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.

A unified IMEX Runge-Kutta approach for hyperbolic systems with multiscale relaxation [PDF]
In this paper we consider the development of Implicit-Explicit (IMEX) Runge-Kutta schemes for hyperbolic systems with multiscale relaxation. In such systems the scaling depends on an additional parameter which modifies the nature of the asymptotic ...

From Rigid to Soft Robotic Approaches for Neuroendoscopy
Robotic assistance has had minimal impact on deep intraventricular surgeries, where small‐scale, precision, and reduced invasiveness can contribute to improved patient outcomes. Emerging technologies in rigid, soft, and hybrid robotics are reviewed to identify the most promising mechanisms for deep brain navigation in addition to an attempt to identify

Very High Order $\PNM$ Schemes on Unstructured Meshes for the Resistive Relativistic MHD Equations
In this paper we propose the first better than second order accurate method in space and time for the numerical solution of the resistive relativistic magnetohydrodynamics (RRMHD) equations on unstructured meshes in multiple space dimensions.

A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...
