AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Second-Order Management – How Second-Order Concepts Contribute to Solutions within Complex Environments [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, 2020
In our daily practice as management consultants we observe disorientation, misconceptions, and open questions about the suitability, limitations, and/or benefits of novel management approaches.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Oscillation criteria for second-order neutral differential equations with distributed deviating arguments

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2007
Using a class of test functions $Phi(t,s,T)$ defined by Sun [13] and a generalized Riccati technique, we establish some new oscillation criteria for the second-order neutral differential equation with distributed deviating argument $$ (r(t)psi(x(t))Z'(t))

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Second order tangency conditions and differential inclusions: a counterexample and a remedy

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
In this paper we show that second order tangency conditions are superfluous not to say useless while discussing the existence condition for certain second order differential inclusions. In this regard, a counterexample is provided even in the simpler

Maximum Inaccuracies of Second Order [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Science Journal of Moldova, 2015
Let an indirectly measurable variable $Y$ be represented as a function of finite number of directly measurable variables $X_1, \linebreak X_2, ..., X_n$. We introduce maximum absolute and relative inaccuracies of second order of $Y$ -- this idea is a

Spacetime Encodings III - Second Order Killing Tensors

open access: yes, 2009
This paper explores the Petrov type D, stationary axisymmetric vacuum (SAV) spacetimes that were found by Carter to have separable Hamilton-Jacobi equations, and thus admit a second-order Killing tensor. The derivation of the spacetimes presented in this

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

About sign-constancy of Green’s function of a two-point problem for impulsive second order delay equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2016
We consider the following second order differential equation with delay $$ \begin{cases} \begin{split} (Lx)(t)&\equiv{x''(t)+\sum_{j=1}^p {a_{j}(t)x'(t-\tau_{j}(t))}+\sum_{j=1}^p {b_{j}(t)x(t-\theta_{j}(t))}}=f(t), & t\in[0,\omega] \end{split} \\ x(t_k)=
