EFFORTS TO OPTIMIZE THE OPERATION OF THE DADAHUP LOWLAND IRRIGATION AREA IN CENTRAL KALIMANTAN

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Hidraulik, 2023
Dadahup lowland irrigation area is one of the areas developed as a food estate. Land cover change to shrubs is caused by channels with buildings that are not functioning optimally, so it is often hit by floods and droughts.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Air Pollutants in Metropolises of Eastern Coastal China

open access: yes, 2022
Recently released hourly particular matter (PM:PM2.5 and PM10) and gaseous pollutants (SO2, NO2, CO, and O3) data observed in Qingdao, Hangzhou, and Xiamen from 2015 to 2019 were utilized to reveal the current situation of air pollution over eastern ...

Wind Tunnel Experiment and Numerical Simulation of Secondary Flow Systems on a Supersonic Wing

open access: yesAerospace
Aircraft secondary flow systems are small-flow circulation devices that are used for thermal and cold management, flow control, and energy generation on aircraft. The aerodynamic characteristics of main-flow-based inlets have been widely studied, but the

Transient 2D FEM-fluid network coupling for thermo-mechanical whole gas turbine engine simulations: modelling features and applications [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
In order to control the thermo-mechanical stresses that large heavy-duty power generation turbines have to face nowadays in their frequent operational transients, the analysis of the heat transfer between main flow, secondary air systems and structural ...

Calculation of Labyrinth Seals in the Secondary Air System of Aircraft Engine [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Mechanical Engineering Journal, 2014
The labyrinth seals perform the important functions in the aircraft engine systems operation, which aim to reduce the air leakages and the mutual system interference reduction. The calculation of the labyrinth seal characteristics is performed simply by using the analytical relationships or the modern tools of numerical analysis.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Chemical Composition of Indoor and Outdoor PM2.5 in Three Schools in the City of Rome

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2015
In Italy, children spend up to 30% of their time in school institutions; for this reason, the evaluation of indoor air quality in schools constitutes a necessary step forward in the direction of child health protection. In this study, we investigated the
