近年, 慢性腎不全患者の2次性副甲状腺機能亢進症 (2°HPT) による腎性骨異栄養症に対する副甲状腺摘除術は有効な治療法とされ, その臨床効果も評価されている. しかし, その組織学的に詳細な検討, 特に好酸性細胞の機能に関する検討はなされていない. 副甲状腺の好酸性細胞は, 従来, 退行変性細胞であり, 内分泌的には非活動性のものとされていたが, その特性が明らかにされ, かつ, 好酸性細胞腺腫による原発性副甲状腺機能亢進症 (1°HPT) の症例が集積されるようになり, その機能性について言及されるようになってきている.今回我々は慢性血液透析施行中の5例に対して副甲状腺亜全摘術, あるいは副甲状腺全摘術+前腕筋肉内移植術を行い, 2°HPTにおける好酸性細胞の機能に関して組織学的観察を行った ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
