An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Strategies to enhance the immunogenicity of tumors are urgently needed. Although vaccination with irradiated dying lymphoma cells recruits a tumor-specific immune response, its efficiency as immunogen is poor.

Ephrin-B2 conventional knockout and endothelial specific knockout mice show the same angiogenesis defects in head, trunk and yolk sac as well as the same heart defects during embryonic development (Gerety and Anderson, 2002; Wang et al., 1998); ephrin-B2

Telomere erosion in memory T cells induced by telomerase inhibition at the site of antigenic challenge in vivo. [PDF]
The extent of human memory T cell proliferation, differentiation, and telomere erosion that occurs after a single episode of immune challenge in vivo is unclear.

Pompe disease is a lysosomal storage disorder caused by autosomal recessive mutations in the acid alpha-glucosidase (GAA) gene. Acid alpha-glucosidase deficiency leads to abnormal glycogen accumulation in patient cells.

On a Perpetual Form of Secondary Cell [PDF]
I HAVE succeeded, after many fruitless attempts, in discovering an indestructible material which can be substituted for lead, as the negative or oxygen-bearing plate of the Faure accumulators, without sacrificing any of the extraordinary good qnalities which that excellent form of secondary couple possesses, excepting only its cheapness of construction.

Virus-Specific Secondary Plasma Cells Produce Elevated Levels of High-Avidity Antibodies but Are Functionally Short Lived. [PDF]
Most vaccines aim at inducing durable antibody responses and are designed to elicit strong B cell activation and plasma cell (PC) formation. Here we report characteristics of a recently described secondary PC population that rapidly originates from ...

Oxyphil cells in secondary hyperparathyroidism
