β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Teacher educational qualifications and the quality of teacher–student interactions in senior high school classrooms in Ghana: Could teacher self‐efficacy bridge the qualifications gap?

open access: yesFuture in Educational Research
Teacher qualifications, self‐efficacy, and quality of teacher–student interactions (QTSIs) are critical factors in educational discourse. While research shows varied results for each variable, studies have yet to examine all three variables ...

The Ship in the Cave: The Greek and Nautical Origin of Buddhist Architecture

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2020
Buddhist architecture rose during the time of the Greek influence in western India, but until today no relationship has been proved between both facts. If we accept that the Greeks stored their galleys overturning and placing them upon stanchions, as the

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Secondary education

open access: yesRevista de la Asociacion Medica Argentina, 2000
The main focus of this report is on education expenditure and participation. The indicator most frequently referred to in public debates on expenditure is the percentage of GDP per country on education. A serious problem with this indicator is that it is affected by enrolment rates and the size of the youth population. A more sophisticated indicator is
