Distributed Secondary Frequency Control through MTDC Transmission Systems

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we present distributed controllers for sharing primary and secondary frequency control reserves for asynchronous AC transmission systems, which are connected through a multi-terminal HVDC grid.

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Strategy of Wind-Storage Combined System Participating in Power System Secondary Frequency Regulation Based on Model Predictive Control

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
With the increasing penetration of wind power in power grids, it is necessary for wind storage joint farms to participate in power grid frequency modulation to maintain frequency stability of the power grid. By analyzing the mechanical characteristics of

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Intelligent optimal stepwise inertial control for wind power frequency regulation: a fuzzy logic and SDAE-DNN framework

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The rapid integration of wind power into modern power systems, while essential for decarbonization, significantly reduces grid inertia, leading to critical frequency stability challenges following disturbances. Traditional stepwise inertial control (SIC)

Research on fast response criterion of power grid distributed loads after HVDC block fault

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2020
The system equivalent inertia of the power grid is gradually decreased with the increasing penetration of renewable energy resources, which leads to a higher risk of frequency fluctuation after a major fault.

USING THE ABSORBED POWER METHOD TO EVALUATE EFFECTIVENES OF SELECTED SEAT CUSHIONS DURING MANUAL WHEELCHAIR PROPULSION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Although wheelchair users are constantly subjected to oscillatory and shock vibrations not much research has been conducted to assess the whole-body vibrations experienced by wheelchair users.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Optimal Process Control for Rotor Speed Recovery and Secondary Frequency Drop Mitigation in Wind Turbine Frequency Regulation

open access: yesProcesses
Driven by the demand for low-carbon and sustainable development, power systems are increasingly transitioning toward higher proportions of renewable energy and power-electronic interfaces, leading to a growing requirement for wind turbines to provide inertia support and frequency regulation (FR). Wind turbine kinetic energy-based FR inherently involves

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...
