The rapidly growing landscape of RAS inhibitors: from selective allele blockade to broad inhibition strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RAS‐targeted therapies have become a clinical reality. Although promising results in patients have been achieved, there are still challenges ahead such as coping with drug resistance. Here we summarize selected RAS inhibitors targeting either individual KRAS mutant isoforms (KRASG12C, KRASG12D, KRASG12V) or exhibiting a wider inhibitory spectrum ...

Ongoing epidemic of scarlet fever in Shanghai and the emergence of M1UK lineage group A Streptococcus: a 14-year surveillance study across the COVID-19 pandemic periodResearch in context

open access: yesThe Lancet Regional Health. Western Pacific
Summary: Background: The surge of group A Streptococcus (GAS) infections in regional countries warranted attention in the post-COVID-19 era. The resurgence of notifiable scarlet fever in China has been a public health issue since 2011.

A guide to reactive oxygen species in tumour hypoxia: measurement and therapeutic implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Hypoxia reshapes tumour redox landscapes by altering compartmental ROS production (mitochondria, NOX, ER, peroxisomes). Accurate interpretation requires oxygen‐contextualised measurement (live biosensors, chemical probes, EPR, LC–MS) and awareness of artefacts (reoxygenation, probe specificity).

The E3 ubiquitin ligase, RNF219, suppresses CNOT6L expression to exhibit antiproliferative activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We identified RNF219 as a CCR4‐NOT complex‐interacting E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the CCR4‐NOT subunit CNOT6L for ubiquitination. RNF219 directly binds to the DUF3819 domain of CNOT1 through its putative α‐helix spanning amino acids 521–542. Our findings also suggest that antiproliferative activity of RNF219 is at least partially mediated by ...

Primary and Secondary Prevention of Strokes

open access: yesМедицинский вестник Юга России, 2012
We have made an attempt to systematize risk factors of primary and repeated ischemic strokes development. The divisions of the corrected and not corrected have been introduced in basis of systematization.

Actin dynamics controlled by IqgC, a RasGAP at the crossroads between the IQGAP and fungal GAP1 families

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IqgC is a RasGAP from Dictyostelium discoideum. IqgC binds RasG via its RasGAP domain and deactivates it on macroendocytic cups, thereby suppressing the uptake of fluid and particles. IqgC has a positive effect on cell‐substratum adhesion, and its RGCt domain is required for recruitment to ventral foci.
