Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Greek version of the illness perception questionnaire- mental health in individuals with major depressive disorder

open access: yesPsychiatry Research Communications, 2022
Illness representations play a key role in patients’ with major depressive disorder (MDD) illness-related self-regulation. The Illness Perception Questionnaire- Mental Health (IPQ-MH) is a valuable instrument possibly capable of measuring patients ...

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Deep neural networks for inferring binding sites of RNA-binding proteins by using distributed representations of RNA primary sequence and secondary structure

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2020
Background RNA binding proteins (RBPs) play a vital role in post-transcriptional processes in all eukaryotes, such as splicing regulation, mRNA transport, and modulation of mRNA translation and decay.

Networks of Gene Regulation, Neural Development and the Evolution of General Capabilities, Such as Human Empathy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A network of gene regulation organized in a hierarchical and combinatorial manner is crucially involved in the development of the neural network, and has to be considered one of the main substrates of genetic change in its evolution.

N=2 local and N=4 nonlocal reductions of supersymmetric KP hierarchy in N=2 superspace

open access: yes, 1999
A N=4 supersymmetric matrix KP hierarchy is proposed and a wide class of its reductions which are characterized by a finite number of fields are described.
