Targeting DNA Secondary Structures

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2000
DNA secondary structures containing regions of single-stranded DNA have now been identified in the genomic DNA of a number of prokaryotic and eukaryotic species, including humans. Many of these secondary structures are associated with regions of DNA involved in regulation of transcription: promoters or upstream elements.

The Secondary Structure

2010
In principle we could expect that X-ray diffraction provides a complete picture of any protein that can be crystallized, with the exact position of each atom. Indeed, models displayed in showcases give the impression that the protein structure is fully known and has been found ab initio.

Secondary Structure of Ribosomal RNA

Science, 1970
Infrared spectra were obtained for 16 S and for 23 S ribosomal RNA's in D 2 O solutions. The percentage of each base in the paired and unpaired regions of the RNA was determined from the spectra. The secondary structures of 16 S and 23

RNA Secondary Structure an Overview

2018
It was believed that the single role of the Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is to carry the information necessitate to build a specific protein. Now it discovered that RNA has important and essential roles in many gene regulatory networks and many other cellular functions.

Secondary and Tertiary Structure of Apolipoproteins

1988
The advent of these and other high-powered techniques for the detailed study of apoLP organization will allow us to obtain a high resolution picture of apoLP conformation both in solution and on native lipoprotein particles.

The graduation of secondary structure elements

Journal of Molecular Graphics, 1994
A method of graduating (i.e., least-squares fitting) a smooth polynomial curve through long elements of protein secondary structure is described. It uses the Chebyshev polynomials of a discrete (integer) variable with several restraints to prevent artifactual curvatures. A new recursion formula is given which allows the evaluation of the polynomials on

RNA Secondary Structure Thermodynamics

2012
Several different ways to predict RNA secondary structures have been suggested in the literature. Statistical methods, such as those that utilize stochastic context-free grammars (SCFGs), or approaches based on machine learning aim to predict the best representative structure for the underlying ensemble of possible conformations.
