SECONDARY STRUCTURES OF DNA [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1969
In view of the differences of the X-ray diffraction patterns for DNA fibers at 66 and 92 per cent relative humidities, it is proposed that the secondary structure of DNA consists of two partially intercalated double helices at 92 per cent. Possible biological implications are discussed.

Changes in protein structure at the interface accompanying complex formation

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2015
Protein interactions are essential in all biological processes. The changes brought about in the structure when a free component forms a complex with another molecule need to be characterized for a proper understanding of molecular recognition as well as

Allosteric mechanism of the V. vulnificus adenine riboswitch resolved by four-dimensional chemical mapping

open access: yeseLife, 2018
The structural interconversions that mediate the gene regulatory functions of RNA molecules may be different from classic models of allostery, but the relevant structural correlations have remained elusive in even intensively studied systems.

Pseudoknots in RNA secondary structures

open access: yesProceedings of the fourth annual international conference on Computational molecular biology, 2000
<p>RNA molecules are sequences of nucleotides that serve as more than mere intermediaries between DNA and proteins, e.g. as catalytic molecules. Computational prediction of RNA secondary structure is among the few structure prediction problems that can be solved satisfactorily in polynomial time. Most work has been done to predict structures that

Multi-objective genetic algorithm for pseudoknotted RNA sequence design

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2012
RNA inverse folding is a computational technology for designing RNA sequences which fold into a user-specified secondary structure. Although pseudoknots are functionally important motifs in RNA structures, less reports concerning the inverse folding of ...
