Channel allocation under uncertain primary users for delay sensitive secondary users
2012 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2012For reducing the channel switching frequency due to uncertain and frequent primary users' interruptions, we design a nonparametric channel allocation algorithm which can effectively manage the spectrum resources in distributed cognitive radio networks and serve for delay-sensitive data traffics.

Spectrum Sharing Secondary Users in Presence of Multiple Adversaries
2021Cognitive radio technology brings a lot of interesting features which affect the transmission and reception properties of modern communication devices. Dynamic spectrum sensing, channel hopping, allocation and strategically nullifying adversarial attacks are among the few.

Boosting Secondary-User Performance
2012This chapter addresses a few challenges and issues in developing Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs), and provides unique solutions to enhance security at physical layer and to boost CRN computing power in a distributed manner. In this age of vast connectivity, network security becomes more and more prominent. In addition to the security means added at the

Capacity Improvement for Cell-Edge Primary User with the Cooperation of the Secondary User in DAS
2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011Distributed antenna system (DAS) can improve the spectral efficiency of the cellular system, especially at the cell edge. In the paper, we consider the cognitive radio technique to further improve the cell edge performance of the DAS. We consider the following scenario: multiple secondary users (SUs) share the same spectrum with the primary user (PU ...

On the Performance of Secondary Users in a Cognitive Radio Network
2014Cognitive radio networks employ opportunistic scheduling of secondary (unlicensed) users for the efficient use of the scarce radio spectrum resources. The main idea is that secondary users (SUs) transmit data opportunistically by utilizing idle licensed frequency bands.

User Reactions to Secondary Journals
1978I am very glad that I was asked to speak about abstract journals. In this case we can by reference to well known quotation consider something that is usually printed on usually rectangular pieces of paper. However, when it comes to contents I think that what I am going to say will not be particularly different between a journal and these other types of

Secondary User Authentication Based on Mobile Devices Location
2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Networking, Architecture, and Storage, 2010We propose a new authentication method based on identifying the ownership and location of the mobile devices. It can be assumed that the majority of the authenticating users will have a cellular device, a personal data assistant (PDA), or a smart phone device and, therefore, such devices are prime candidates to be used as another form of secondary ...

Secondary User Access Control in Cognitive Radio Networks
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2016Spectrum sharing and aggregation among authorized secondary users (A-SUs) are important tasks in operating effective cognitive radio networks. Furthermore, in protecting spectrum sharing/aggregation against unauthorized secondary users (UA-SUs), secondary user access control (SUAC) is needed, which is investigated in this paper.

Capacity analysis for secondary user in cognitive radio network
2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP), 2011In this paper, we discuss three dynamic spectrum assignment schemes: Random Spectrum Assignment, Non-Random Spectrum Assignment and Reservation based Non-Random Spectrum Assignment. A general definition of capacity for secondary user is given. By using quasi birth and death theory, we derive the closed-form solution of secondary capacity and analyze ...
