YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Effect of hyperoxia on the intestinal IgA secretory component in neonatal rats and on intestinal epithelial cells in vitro

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2010
Oxygen therapy is essential for the treatment of some neonatal critical care conditions but its extrapulmonary effects have not been adequately investigated.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

LOCAL IMMUNITY AND GUT MICROFLORA IN THE SALMONELLA CARRIERS АND APPROACHES TO ITS TREATMENT

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
. Features of local immunity were studied in the patients with Salmonella infection at reconvalescence, both without carriership, and in reconvalescent carriers of microbial flora (RCM).

Circulating secretory component in breast neoplasms. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pathology, 1987
The serum concentrations of IgAp and IgMr associated secretory component (SIgA and SIgM) of 98 patients with neoplasms of the breast were measured. Of the 56 patients with carcinomas, 11 had increased concentrations of circulating SIgM, which was almost twice as sensitive as SIgA as a marker for carcinoma.

Diagnostic Use of Testing for Novel Murine Autoantibodies for Sjögren Disease in the Rheumatology Outpatient Setting

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The goal was to assess the diagnostic performance of three novel autoantibodies (NA) for Sjögren disease (SjD) by comparing NA prevalence in patients with SjD, other autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs), nonspecific chronic sialadenitis (CS), and controls.

Unconventional endosome-like compartment and retromer complex in Toxoplasma gondii govern parasite integrity and host infection

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
The retromer complex is a multi-protein component of the endosomal protein sorting machinery. Here, Sangaré et al. identify unique features in the retromer complex of the parasite Toxoplasma gondii, and show that it is crucial for the biogenesis of ...
