The Search for Supernova-produced Radionuclides in Terrestrial Deep-sea Archives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An enhanced concentration of 60Fe was found in a deep ocean's crust in 2004 in a layer corresponding to an age of ~2 Myr. The confirmation of this signal in terrestrial archives as supernova-induced and detection of other supernova-produced radionuclides

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Research on Impacts of Different Slope Gradientson Runoff and Sediment Yield in Dabie Mountains

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2020
Dabie Mountains is a national key prevention and protection area for water and soilloss. Aiming at the problem of soil and water loss in Dabie Mountains, and taking the field flowplot of the soil and water conservation test station in Huoshan County as ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Estimating long term sediment yields from sediment core analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW. Land Reclamation, 2010
Estimating long term sediment yields from sediment core analysis Sediment cores from lakes and reservoirs can be used to estimate sediment yields. In proglacial lakes, the bed sediment typically accumulates as varves, reflecting changes in seasonal and annual sedimentation.

A multiphase seismic investigation of the shallow subduction zone, southern North Island, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The shallow structure of the Hikurangi margin, in particular the interface between the Australian Plate and the subducting Pacific Plate, is investigated using the traveltimes of direct and converted seismic phases from local earthquakes.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

The effects of geomorphic controls on sediment yield in the andean rivers of Colombia

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Sedimentology and Basin Analysis, 2021
This paper examines sediment yield rates and its response to control variables in the principal rivers of Colombian draining into the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

Detrital zircon and apatite (U‐Th)/He geochronology of intercalated baked sediments: a new approach to dating young basalt flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Simple numerical models suggest that many basaltic lava flows should sufficiently heat the sediments beneath them to reset (U‐Th)/He systematics in detrital zircon and apatite.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
