Tool4S: A GUI-based python software tool for seismic station site selection data processing and analysis

open access: yesSoftwareX
Data quality is the foundation of further research. It’s essential to find a seismic station whose data could be collected without being significantly affected by surrounding noise sources.

Lithology and palynology of cave floor sediment cores from Wakulla Spring, Wakulla County, Florida [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Five short bottom sediment cores taken in Wakulla Spring Wakulla County, Florida, were described lithologically and sampled for palynological study. Four of the cores were recoveredfrom sediments at the spring cave entrance (130 feet water depth).

Islandinium pacificum sp. nov., a new dinoflagellate cyst from the upper Quaternary of the northeast Pacific [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Round brown process-bearing cysts (RBPC) produced by dinoflagellates (Dinophyceae) occur as an important part of assemblage diversities in seafloor sediments worldwide. Here a new species, Islandinium pacificum, is described from surface sediment samples

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Fate of Irgarol 1051, diuron and their main metabolites in two UK marine systems after restrictions in antifouling paints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two major antifouling biocides used worldwide, Irgarol 1051 and diuron, and their degradation products in Shoreham Harbour and Brighton Marina, UK were studied during 2003-2004.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Deep Sea Sedimentation

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 1974
An important problem in the study of microparticles in the marine environment, suspended in the water column or deposited as sediment on the ocean bottom, is the determination of provenance of the microparticles-where did they come from and by what processes were they transported to the sampling location?

Spatial and temporal trends of iron and iron isotope cycling in the Peruvian oxygen minimum zone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Iron (Fe) is a key element in the global ocean’s biogeochemical framework because of its essential role in numerous biological processes. A poorly studied link in the oceanic Fe cycle is the reductive release of Fe from sediments in oxygen depleted ocean
