Phenylpropanoid Content of Chickpea Seed Coats in Relation to Seed Dormancy
The physical dormancy of seeds is likely to be mediated by the chemical composition and the thickness of the seed coat. Here, we investigate the link between the content of phenylpropanoids (i.e., phenolics and flavonoids) present in the chickpea seed coat and dormancy.

Summary: The seed coat, a multi-layered protective structure containing lignin, is critical for the survival and germination of seeds. How seed coat lignin is spatiotemporally deposited and, thus, its physiological role remain poorly understood.

Proanthocyanidin Biosynthesis in the Developing Wheat Seed Coat Investigated by Chemical and RNA-seq Analysis [PDF]
The composition of proanthocyanidins in the testa (seed coat) of bread wheat was analysed by thiolysis of PA oligomers from developing grain and found to consist of (+)-catechin monomers, with a small amount of (+)-gallocatechin. The average chain length

Correlation of physio-chemical characteristics in the seed coat and canning quality in different dark red kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris l.) cultivars [PDF]
Plan BThe canned kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the major consumption forms of this agricultural product. In the canning industry, seed coat splitting is considered one factor affecting the integrity of the appearance in the final product.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Temperature effect on seed germination in Canna indica L. (Cannaceae)
Comm indica L. is an herbaceous species with ornamental and medicinal value, having seeds with a hard seed coat. This study aimed to test the influence of constant temperatures ranging from 5 to 45 C, at 5 C intervals, on the germination of scarified ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
