Do the elaiosome and seed coat color affect the seed quality of Mabea fistulifera Mart?
ABSTRACT: Mabea fistulifera Mart. (Euphorbiaceae) is a native tree recommended for the restoration of degraded areas. The objective was to evaluate the quality of M. fistulifera seed lots through germination and vigor tests. The germination test was conducted in a factorial design (3 x 2 x 2), involving three seed colors (red, orange, and brown), with ...

Inheritance of some seed-coat colors and patterns in lima beans
FIVE GENE PAIRS governing seed-coat color in lima beans and their relationships to some hypocotyl and flower-color genes are described. These genes are: Cc—governs red vs. white seed-coat color; acts as a basic color factor in the production of colored hypocotyls, flowers, and other seed-coat colors.

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.
