CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Green seed coat colour retention in lentil (lens culinaris) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Poor seed coat colour desirability in green lentil (Lens culinaris) costs lentil producers millions of dollars each year. The monetary value that Canadian lentil producers receive for their crop is based on the visual characteristics of the seed coat ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Identification of seed-related QTL in Brassica rapa

open access: yesSpanish Journal of Agricultural Research, 2013
To reveal the genetic variation, and loci involved, for a range of seed-related traits, a new F2 mapping population was developed by crossing Brassica rapa ssp. parachinensis L58 (CaiXin) with B. rapa ssp.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Seed Coat Colour Variation and its Impact on Seed Quality Parameters of Horsegram var. Paiyur 2

open access: yesAgricultural Science Digest - A Research Journal, 2022
Background: Seed coat colour is an indicator of seed maturation and it attain specific colour at physiological maturity. The seed coat is a main modulator of interactions between the internal structures of the seed and the external environment not only preserves integrity of the seed parts but also protects the embryo from mechanical injuries and ...

CORRELATION AND PATH ANALYSIS STUDY OF SEED COAT COLOUR AND SEED DETERIORATION IN GREEN GRAM (VIGNA RADIATA L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The present study was undertaken to record the relationship between seed coat colour and seed deterioration. Other seed characters like germination percentage speed of germination, seedling fresh and dry weight, seed vigour, seed protein content, hundred

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Effect of mutation on seed coat colour in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The seed material of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) variety namely TAG-24, is used in the present study. The mutagenized population showed significantly higher variability in the M2 and M3 generation. Mutation affecting seed coat colour were detected in

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have
