Corynespora cassiicola in soybean seeds – incidence and transmission

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2020
The fungus Corynespora cassiicola, causal agent of target spot in soybeans, has been considered, from the seed pathology point of view, a seed-borne pathogen of limited importance.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Sanitary, physiological quality and alternative treatments of Dimorphandra gardneriana Tul. seeds

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2018
The Dimorphandra gardneriana Tul. species is widely distributed in the Brazilian territory presenting an economic and environmental importance. The aim of this study was to determine the fungi associated with Dimorphandra gardneriana seeds, assessing the

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Health and transmission of fungi associated with seeds of Luehea divaricata

open access: yesAgro@mbiente On-line, 2020
Research related to the pathology of seeds of native forest species, açoita-cavalo (Luehea divaricata), is scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the sanitary and physiological quality of whipshorse seeds and the possible transmission of fungi associated ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Incidence of base rot and wilt, sanitary severity and influence about seed pathology by cultivars of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris)

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico, 2019
: The objective of this work was to conduct a temporal evaluation of incidence of rot base and sanitary severity, and to relate the impact on the seed pathology of common bean cultivars.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Efficiency of Blotter test and agar culture medium to detect Fusarium graminearum and Pyricularia grisea in wheat seeds

open access: yesJournal of Seed Science
: Seeds can be considered one of the most efficient forms to disseminate pathogens. Therefore, the use of healthy seeds is extremely important to establish a crop, and seed health testing must be performed to determine the seed sanitary quality.
