Glyphosate Hormesis Improves Agronomic Characteristics and Yield of Glyphosate-Resistant Soybean Under Field Conditions

open access: yesAgronomy
Brazil, the world’s largest soybean producer, owes its success to the cultivation of glyphosate-resistant (GR) cultivars. However, the soybean yields lag behind those obtained in areas managed for high productivity.

Is the possibility of replacing seed dressings containing neonicotinoids with other means of protection viable in major Polish agricultural crops?

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2015
Following the limitations regarding the use of the neonicotinoids: clothianidin, thiamethoxam and imidacloprid there are no currently available insecticide seed dressings for oilseed rape in Poland.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Bioactive substances enhance the germination and salt resistance of melon (Cucumis melo L.) seeds

open access: yesFolia Horticulturae
This experiment aimed to explore the effects of bioactive substances such as alginate (seaweed extract) (SW), potassium humate (humic acid) (HA), diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate (DA-6) and brassinolide (BR) on the germination and salt resistance of melon ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
