Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Influence of weeds on seed development, yield components and seed quality in Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) [PDF]
The presence of weeds during crop production is known to affect yield. However, changes to yield components, seed development and seed quality are not well documented. The study was conducted to determine the effect of weeds on accumulation of seed dry

Effect of barley or rape seed cake as supplement to silage for high-yielding organic dairy cows [PDF]
An experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of barley or rape seed cake as supplement to silage given ad libitum on milk production and health of dairy cows. A total of 103 cows were divided into two groups on two farms.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

The effects of seed size and maternal origin on the distribution of individual plant size in Ludwigia leptocarpa (Onagraceae) [PDF]
Seed size is normally distributed for many annual species, while mature plant size is frequently positively skewed. A study was conducted to determine the influence of seed size and the role of genetic differences in determining relative seedling size ...

EFFECT OF WEIGHT OF SEED UPON THE RESULTING CROP
Summary. Field experiments, especially in America, nave indicated that, with annual plants at least, better crops are usually obtained by the use of heavy seed in preference to light, whether equal numbers of bushels or equal numbers of seeds are sown per acre.

Intra-plant variation in seed weight and seed protein content of cowpea [PDF]
Seed size and protein content are the major breeding objectives for cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata). However, intra-plant variation in these traits causes heterogeneous seed quality and seed depreciation. To determine the causes and severity of intra-plant variation in cowpea single seed weight and protein content, seeds from individual plants were ...
