An intelligent multimedia system for identification of weed seedlings
Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 1998An intelligent multimedia tool for identifying weeds was developed in order to facilitate weed identification in the seedling stage. The identification is based on a visual image approximation method and it is implemented using multimedia, hypertext, object oriented design and knowledge based technologies.

Identification of QTLs for seedling vigor in winter wheat
Euphytica, 2014Seedling vigor is an important trait characterized by rapid development of vegetative cover above the soil surface, particularly in rainfed environments. To elucidate the genetic basis of seedling vigor, 207 F2:4 lines derived from Jingdong 8/Aikang 58 were investigated in the field at Beijing and Gaoyi, Hebei province, during the 2011–2012 and 2012 ...

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1997
Abstract It is important to understand the characteristics of grafted seedlings during the acclimation process, especially the moisture content inside the scion, which depends on the balance between transpiration and supply from the stock. The joining rate between the scion and the stock can be done effectively by measuring the wilting rate of a ...

Identification of Coniferin-Specific-Glucosidases in Cicer arietinum L. Seedlings
Zeitschrift für Pflanzenphysiologie, 1981Summary The coniferin-specific β-glucosidase which had originally been found in chick pea ( Cicer arietinum L.) cell cultures (Hosel et al., 1978) has now also been identified in stems and roots of this plant. The β-glucosidases isolated from these plant organs show the same substrate specificity and protein properties as the enzyme from cell ...

The identification of pea varieties in the seedling stage
Euphytica, 1952The first two scale leaves formed by Pea seedlings are very useful for identification. Methods of investigation are described, and the forms, occurring in 14 agricultural varieties grown in the Netherlands, are discussed.

Identification of Aneuploidy-Inducing Agents Using the Wheat Seedling Assay
1991A short-term assay using Chinese Spring wheat for detecting induced aneuploidy and/or clastogenicity is described. Seeds of virescent wheat (v1v1) are treated with a test agent. The appearance of white sectors (v1v1v1) or green sectors (v10) on the virescent leaves indicates the gain or loss of a chromosome or a segment of a chromosome-bearing v1 ...
